Get Milk! Get Bread! Beware!

Edelman Atlanta
Eeks -- we might get snow! Oh, the hysteria. My personal theory: any time they predict it more than 24 hours in advance, it never happens. On the other hand, I'd like to sleep in (but I'm a mom, so I always dream of sleeping in). Snow or no snow, I'll be up -- but maybe I'll stay in my jammies. What's your prediction?

Atlanta: A City Where Optimism Is Liberally Indulged

A New York Times travel section article from this past Sunday labeled Atlanta as a city where optimism is liberally indulged. With the vast number of transients and transplants, I'm curious what those who've recently moved to the city find distinctly Atlantan (beyond the need to travel by car wherever you go). Being a near-native, I have to be obsessed with perceptions of the city's image, right?

Personally, I love the city's many neighborhoods that each offer a certain vibe that allows you to find a locale that fits your mood. If you love Midtown (and its unofficial ambassador Baton Bob), I encourage you to check out a recent TBS segment posted on CNN.com. If you're unfamiliar with this local character, he's indeed distinctly Atlantan. If you're from another town or city, please do share stories of your own local, colorful personalities.
