Blogs, wikis and twitters oh my!

So i'm a day behind in posting this, but if you didn't catch yesterday's WSJ there is an interesting article on social media that appears in the technology section ("Making Sense of Social Networking") - it is definitely worth a read (note: password may be required). In fact this article couldn't have come at a better time with me and John M. attending a training session in Chicago to help us better embrace social media vehicles and tools. During yesterday's session our instructor highlighted some fairly new sites/tools that are worth a gander if you haven't seen them yet:

www.twittervision.com - this is one of my favorites from yesterday - a site that allows you to see twittering around the globe.

www.ning.com - tired of participating in social networks that don't really hit your niche, try creating your own . Ranging from professional networks to groups for handball enthusiasts this is a really cool site that seems to be getting a lot of interest.

www.gather.com - feel like you've outgrown the MySpace thing, Gather is the leader in social media for Adults.

www.fark.com - looking for another news aggregator, check out Fark - humor sets this one apart from all of the other news aggregators.

More from our learnings in Chicago later, until then what are some of your favorite new social media sites?
