Taylor Rocked the House
Okay, Idol fans. Taylor rocked the house last night. I don't care what Simon says. Dialidol.com says Paris leaves tonight. I agree.
Steve has McFeever. I thought Katherine did well last night.
Chris rocked on Renegade but finally showed a chink in his armor with the second song.
Anyone else still watching?

I agree that Taylor was unbelievable last night - with both songs. "Play that Funky Music" was one of the most memorable, entertaining moments on the entire history of the show.
I still want him to win, but doubt he will. Even so, with his charisma and pipes, he'll have a great career.
I say the departure will go like this:
Paris
Kat
Elliott
Taylor
Chris, the Idol

Taylor is a great entertainer, but American Idol? I don't know. However, looking at past idols, with the exception of Kelly Clarkston, not much has come of them since the show. I think Taylor would have a niche audience though, but I can't help agreeing with Simon sometimes that he reminds me of a drunk uncle singing at a wedding.
I'm jealous of Kat's hair and she does have a good voice (she just needs to work on her presentation), so I will continue to root for her.
Paris is going to have a career in music. She doesn't need Idol, she has the music biz in her family. She is also only 16, so I won't be too sad if she gets kicked off because I'm sure it won't be the last of her.
I would be happy to see Chris win the show. It's a man's turn to win, and he has his own sound. Sure, he fits into the alternative rocker stage, but starting a career in the alternative genre from winning American Idol would be awesome to watch.
And, I'm not a big fan of Elliot's at all, I would have voted him off towards the beginning.

Rachel,
I can't let your comment go unchallenged. The fact is, American Idol winners/participants have had amazing success. As you know, Kelly won a Grammy, Clay Aiken has had a half dozen huge hits and is playing major arenas, and Carrie Underwood had the number one debuting album in country music within 6 months of winning Idol. All of them are very talented singers who'll do well no matter what.
The flame-outs - and that's a relative term - have been Ruben and Fantasia (neither of whom deserved to win, IMHO).
Elliott is very, very talented vocally but would be harder to market - he doesn't have the looks and stage presence that would make him a hot property. Kat is the whole package, but doesn't have enough personality.
While I think Paris technically has the best voice in the group, she's awfully young to take on the challenge of being the Idol and she still has years of opportunity left.
I'm hoping against hope that Taylor takes the whole thing. His incredible lack of coordination is just so darn charming.
Lastly, surely you're kidding when you say "it's a man's turn to win." This ain't kindergarten where we alternate who gets to lead the class to lunch.

Ok, this will be my first comment on the subject....I thought Elliot wasn't so great last night (i've been cheering for him). I actually agreed with Simon (as usual) that Taylor's version of play that funky music sounded like a wedding singer's version...but I really like him and am secretly cheering for him. I think Christ forgot everything Andreo Boccelli told him and sang too much from his throat. Here's how I think it will go:
Elliot
Paris
Chris
Taylor
Kat-the idol

Chris
Taylor

Sorry I was that last anonymous person. Forgot to write my name...what a way to kick off my blogging start.
Well, I stand corrected.
What I meant by "its a man's turn to win" is that it seemed like they alternate winners every year, girl, boy, girl. But I forgot about Carrie Underwood winning after Fantasia.

I think it's time for a rocker to win. I wanted Bo last year and it didn't happen. I think Chris is the next idol. Leaving the following...
Elliot - gone this week, then
Taylor
Kat
Chris, THE idol
